Q. When will I start to feel better?

The answer depends upon the condition being treated.

Acute health problems tend to be resolved more quickly with symptom reduction in a matter of days or weeks.

Chronic health problems may take some months to correct although some symptomatic relief may be seen in as little as a week or two. 

Preconception and fertility treatment usually takes a minimum of 3-4 months.

Q. How often do I need to visit?

Again, this depends on the condition being treated. It is usual for patients to return about two weeks after their initial appointment to discuss any questions they may have and to make any necessary adjustments or modification to treatment in the light of results. A Hemaview Blood Screening is often undertaken during this consultation.

Acute conditions are usually resolved quickly and may only need one or two appointments.

Chronic health problems are usually monitored every 4-6 weeks.

Preconception and fertility patients usually require an appointment at the beginning of each menstrual cycle or every four weeks.

Q. What sort of medicines will I need to take?

Most patients are given a personalised, herbal mixture, usually taken twice daily in a small amount of water or juice. In addition one or more nutritional supplements which are taken in tablet or powdered form are often prescribed.

Children’s herbs and supplements are given in pleasant tasting powders and liquids.

Q. What should I bring to my first appointment?

A 3-day food diary and short general health questionnaire will be sent to you prior to your first appointment. These should be completed and brought to your first appointment along with the results of any recent pathology tests ordered through your GP.

Q. Can I claim any of my consultation fee back from my private health fund?

Belinda is accredited with most private health funds in Australia and has facilities for on the spot HICAPS claiming. The amount you are eligible to claim depends on your fund and level of cover. Please contact your fund to find out more.
